Organised labour in Kogi State has said that it is proceeding with Mondays protest call by the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC.
The Chairman of the state chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Onu Edoka told DAILY POST on Sunday evening that the state chapter has not received a contrary directive concerning the protests.
“The decision is that of the national secretariat of the Nigerian Labour Congress and we, at the state level, are bound to obey any instructions from them.
“We have mobilised all our affiliate bodies and there will be no going back unless there is a counter instruction,” he said.
Asked if the court injunction would affect the protest, Edoka said that labour is not aware of any court injunction.
“No Court injunction has been served to the national secretariat and none has been served to us at the state level and we cannot act on non existing court injunction “Edoka added.
