Special constables, who are recruited into the community policing initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, will commence training on Friday, October 9, DAILY POST reports.
This was contained in a police message addressed to all the Commissioners of Police in all state headquarters from the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The police message, signed by Okinlola Kola Kamaldeen, Commissioner of Police (CPP) Community Policing on October 5, was titled: “Journey Instruction For Special Constables.”
‘Candidates are to arrive at their respective police training schools with two pairs of white canvas, two pairs of white T-shirts, two pairs of white shorts, sport wears, blanket, two white bedsheets, torchlight, food flask, plates, cup, cutlass, broom, a hoe, bucket and cutleries.
“Candidates should note that these items will be inspected at the entry point into the institutions,” it was said.
Our correspondent gathered that the training will last for a period of three months.
