Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has used the instrumentality of the State to free three End SARS protesters charged to court.
They are Matairu Faruq, Olatoye Olalekan and Adeniji Sodiq.
On Monday, the Isabo Magistrate’s Court in Abeokuta granted them bail.
The Police arraigned them on felony charges, including attempting murder.
The trio were accused of disrupting the Owu festival last Saturday.
Twenty-seven others arrested were released the next day.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, Police spokesman, said they “vandalized public properties and injured one police Sergeant on duty at the palace.”
Tuesday morning, Abiodun announced that all charges have been dropped.
“On my instruction, the Attorney General has reviewed the evidence in the investigation case file in respect of the three suspects that were remanded in a custodial centre on 12th October, 2020. Ogun State has decided not to charge them with any offence. They are to be released immediately”, he tweeted.
