Senator-elect for Osun East Senatorial District, Chief Francis Fadahunsi, has accused the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, of treating senators like school pupils.
Fadahunsi, in a statement signed and issued during the weekend by his media aide, Sam Segun-Progress, berated Oshiomhole over his endorsement of Senator Ahmed Lawan as the next Senate President.
He added that Oshiomhole’s posture to senators elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is like that of a school teacher giving out instructions to his pupils.
Fadahunsi, who was elected to the Senate last month on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, warned that Senator Lawan may at the end be seen as a stooge of the executive with the way the party is going by his adoption.
The statement reads in part: “What is the business of the executive with the election of principal officers of the National Assembly? The way the party is going about it is exposing Senator Lawan.
“The action of the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, is like that of a headmaster giving instructions to his pupils.
“The APC ought to be discreet with its lobbying, not grandstanding about imposing an anointed candidate on senators. This is because the party is exposing Senator Lawan to the danger of being viewed and labelled as a stooge of the executive.”
