The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has given an update on the collation of River election results.
INEC’s Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, speaking on Channels Tv issued a stern warning to political agents against stirring any disturbance in the collation centre.
Okoye added that INEC is determined to conclude the collation of result and would throw out any agent caught disturbing result collation.
He said: “Those to be officially present at the collation of Rivers election result are media domestic election observers, stakeholders and all representatives of a political party will be presented at the collation centre.
“We are very firm at the collation result and would not tolerate any disruptive action because we are determined to conclude result collation in Rivers and pull out.
“The coalition is not a place for ground standing it is a place for PU result. if any agent of any political party wants to destroy the process they will be taken out because the commission is determined to conclude collation of result
“We are determined to bring the results today, the security agencies have assured us and we will conclude this election and pull out.results are in a strong room of the commission, we assure people that announcement will be credible.
“I appeal to people of Rivers and stakeholders to cooperate with us.”
