Okezie Ikpeazu, the Governor of Abia State, has commended Senator Theodore Orji for his quality representation since assuming office.
Senator Orji, a former Governor of Abia State is currently representing Abia Central Senatorial district in the red chamber of Nigeria Senate.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu made the commendation after about 100 undergraduates drawn from various Institutions across the country benefited from Senator Theodore Orji Annual Scholarship Scheme.
The event was held in Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State.
Ikpeazu described the scholarship scheme of the immediate past Abia Governor as remarkable due to its generational impact on society.
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu further eulogized Senator Orji for a quality representation of the state at the Senate, adding that the scheme and many other live impacting projects of the Senator scattered across Abia Central senatorial zone is highly commendable.
He seized the opportunity to advise the recipients of the Scholarship to utilize the wonderful opportunity as they remained the primary beneficiaries.
He further urged them to be law-abiding, studious and of good behaviour; as that is the only way to show appreciation to their benefactor.
Earlier in his speech, Senator Theodore Orji reminded the beneficiaries that education remains the key to success, he added that he will always be happy to support the educational development of the people, especially amongst young people.
The former Governor thanked all the scholarship beneficiaries past and present for allowing him to participate in their academic successes, and more importantly, for giving him the opportunity to provide help through his annual scholarship scheme.
The beneficiaries of the scheme took turns to express their excitement over the Senator’s kind gestures and concern towards the welfare of his constituents, assuring that they will not let him down.
