Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) National President, Emeka Rollas has disassociated self from reports about Mr. Ibu battling stroke.
“Why should anybody attribute Mr. Ibu down with stroke to me? Am I a family member of the comedian? That I am National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, does it make me a personal doctor to any actors? I woke up this morning to read on different platforms that Mr. Ibu is down with stroke!
How? And someone is writing I confirmed with him. I have not seen Mr. Ibu for some time now because of his busy schedule but we speak on phone regularly. We Even spoke last week Even if he is sick am I the first person to know when he has a family. Please people should mind their business and leave Actors alone” he said.
Reporters had it that the popular comic actor was hit by a mysterious stroke shortly after he returned from his recent trip to Owerri and Rollas was quoted as saying “I am aware that Mr. Ibu is truly down with stroke, but he is fast recovering and need more of our prayers right now.”
Popular comic actor, John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu confirmed that he is fine, stressing that he is not suffering from any form of sickness or ailment.
He said, “Na so I hear oooo. I am hale and hearty. I am speaking from my house, in Lekki.
“I have been receiving calls from across the world since today. I don’t know who is spreading this false news about me. I don’t know what they saying.
“Na their papa get stroke.”
Okafor is considered to be one of Nigeria’s most talented comic characters. His humorous acting is often characterised by stupidity, hilarious imbecility and a sharp disconnection from reality.
He has acted in more than 200 movies, including Mr. Ibu (2004), Mr. Ibu in London (2004), Police Recruit (2003), 9 Wives (2005), Ibu in Prison (2006) and Keziah (2007).
