The Abia State Focal Person on Social Investment Programme, Hon. Chinenye Nwaogu has encouraged Abians with entrepreneurial skills to always make themselves available whenever programmes that will better their lots come in.
Interacting with a cross section of journalists shortly after the inauguration of Abia State council on Small and Medium scale Enterprises at the government house, Umuahia, Hon. Nwaogu pointed out that his office had the clear mandate of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to ensure that every Federal Government programme that is been administered, gets to Abians directly.
On the Federal Government Survival Funds for artisans who suffered great loss at the peak of the coronvirus pandemic, Nwaogu revealed that the package is of five components, and lauded the heads of the artisan’s organizations for mobilizing members, which caused 7000 artisans to benefit and got paid too.
“We are moving round the entire state capturing members of transport unions, who are benefitting from the transport scheme. We have about 4050 of them and each will receive N30,000”, Nwaogu said.
He lauded governor Okezie Ikpeazu for all his efforts to ensure that Abians become employers of labour.
Nwaogu warned Abians to beware of scammers who may capitalize on the programme to dupe the ignorant.
“Whenever we put an announcement for any of our programmes, do not approach it with doubt, believe it is true once it is coming from the appropriate office. Do not yield to scammers, always verify from the Abia state Social Investment,” she said.
