Ekiti State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Ayodeji Daramola on Thursday in Ado Ekiti formally introduced the newly appointed Judge, Justice Adeniyi Familoni to the bar and bench according to the Judicial tradition.
In his address, Justice Daramola said the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary have different functions and power, but the separation cannot be water-tight without interaction adding that they must co-exist peacefully to achieve peace, equity and good governance.
He advised the new Judge to be mindful of the company he keeps and avoid charlatans and favour seekers among the litigants who may resort to a campaign of calumny and blackmail for their failure to persuade him, may resort to illegality in their favour.
In his address, Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr. Olawale Fapounda said the government is in motion to appoint not only more female Judges but other competent and more qualified Judges in Ekiti State.
He says the Governor has signed into Law the transferring of Judicial officers pension to the Judicial Service Commission to improve their lives and others.
It will be recalled that the appointment of Justice Adeniyi Familoni was recommended on Jan. 18 and carried out by Governor Kayode Fayemi on Jan. 19.
Speaking to the press after the introduction, Justice Familoni promised to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as sworn to in his Judicial and oath of allegiance.
