A 20-year-old Nigerian lady has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stealing a mobile phone in Abeokuta.
The lady is said to have stolen a mobile phone belonging to business mogul and Iyalode of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson.
After allegedly stealing the phone, the suspect identified as Maureen Ohakamike fled to Lekki, Lagos state where she was tracked to and nabbed after two months of intensive investigation and manhunt.
Ohakamike has confessed to the crime and in an interview with journalist she disclosed that
she stole the phone when Iyalode left her bag on a seat, as she was being attended to by the photographers of the business center.
Speaking further she confirmed that after she stole the phone she immediately switched it off and hid it within the premises of the business center, while a search for the phone was ongoing.
Iyalode was reportedly at a business center in Abeokuta, last year December to take photograph when her phone was stolen. The case was reported to the police thereafter, and in swift response the authorities commenced investigation.
