In celebration of Nigeria’s Democracy Day, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended President Muhammdu Buhari for rewriting history in Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu in a post on his Twitter page, stated that Buhari rewrote history in Nigeria by celebrating freedom and social justice on June12.
The governor added that through Buhari’s efforts, Chief MKO Abiola lives on in minds of Nigerians as a hero of democracy.
Sanwo-Olu wrote: “On this inaugural celebration of June 12 as Democracy day, we thank H.E Buhari for rewriting history in celebration of Freedom, Fairness, Equity and Social Justice.
“Chief MKO Abiola lives on in our minds and hearts as a hero of Nigeria’s democracy.”
Meanwhile Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has said the Federal Government’s decision to celebrate Democracy Day on June 12 was President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s commitment to progressive ideals.
He gave the hint, Tuesday, when he received at the Presidential Villa, Mr. Aristobulo Isturiz, the Vice President of Venezuela, who is leading the country’s delegation to Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration.
