Ondo state first lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has shared her thoughts on reports of the reconciliation of Channels TV reporter, Pius Angbo and his wife, Ifeyinwa.
Recall Ifeyinwa, a medical doctor, had accused Pius Angbo, a Channels TV correspondent based in Benue, of constantly subjecting her to acts of domestic violence in their six years of marriage.
Ifeyinwa shared a clip of her battered face and it went viral on social media with Nigerians calling for Justice.
On Monday, December 7, Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, intervened and reconciled the couple.
Reacting to the development via her social media handle, the First Lady said it is the responsibility of women to raise their sons to respect women.
She further said real men do not beat their wives.
Her tweet reads ;
ON BENUE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GONE VIRAL
Nigerian Mothers, it’s ur responsibility to raise ur sons 2 respect womanhood. Counsel them not 2 turn somebody’s daughter 2 a punch bag. Wife beating no matter d circumstance is UNACCEPTABLE!
