A sociopolitical group, Abia Defenders of Democracy (ADD) has hailed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for bringing economic opportunities back to Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state.
This came as Governor Ikpeazu-led administration increased work on road construction and rehabilitation across the state.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by its President, Dr George Njoku and Secretary, Hon. Chukwuma Onyeze and made available to journalists in Umuahia shortly after it inspected some roads already done and commissioned by the State Governor.
The Pro-democracy group said Governor Ikpeazu’s strides are appreciable and deserve commendation because he has not only delivered on his promises but is also promoting economic diversification.
It said the construction of the roads has made the area easily accessible, positing that the roads will improve economic activities in the area.
The sociopolitical organization said the state government has proven to be trustworthy and dependable, noting that most of the promises made by the governor to the people of aba have been fulfilled.
“Aside from the roads in aba, the governor is also working on roads in so many rural areas across the state. This will ensure that we get a greater benefit from farming activities. With the roads and the cluster, we are set to become the food basket of the southeast.
“The State Government is not relenting on its infrastructure development plans, which are aimed at improving economic activities and livelihoods across the state. The government has so far done quality road projects, adding that Abia Defenders of Democracy(ADD) will institute a monitoring mechanism to assess the quality of work by the government”.
Road projects inspected by the group, as contained in the statement include Osusu road, Milverton Avenue, Eziukwu Road, Ojike lane, Chisco link and Ebenma road.
