Shehu Sani
Shenu Sani has warned the National Assembly against making Lauretta Onochie a commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The former senator who represented Kaduna central in the 9th assembly gave the warning on Twitter.
Mr Sani, who is a former member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), said Ms Onochie is undeserving of being INEC commissioner. He stressed that her presence in the electoral body will “undoubtedly question its credibility and independence.”
He took to twitter and wrote:
“Lauretta is outrightly undeserving of being a commissioner in @inecnigeria;Her presence in the electoral body will undoubtedly question its credibility and independence. Her denial before the screening committee is baseless. She is a partisan agent of the ruling party; Period,”
Recall that Onochie had yesterday categorically denied being a member of the APC since 2019.
However, a fact-check by POLITICS NIGERIA exposed the presidential aide showing that she swore an affidavit earlier this year where she claimed to still be a member of APC.
