The Vice-Chancellor, Mountain Top University, Prof. Elijah Ayolabi, has told students that any other process of achieving success aside hard work, reading, studying, and prayer will lead to agony.
Speaking at the 7th matriculation of the school, Ayolabi told the 313 matriculants that there was no other way to achieve excellence in their academic pursuits than through hard work.
“I pray that God will be with you through your years of study and academic pursuit here. There is no other way to achieve excellence in your academic pursuit than through hard work. You must be ready to work hard, read, study, and pray. Any other process of achieving success is counterfeit and will lead you to agony. When you sincerely work hard, God will inevitably bless your efforts.”
He told the parents and new students that the school had zero tolerance for indiscipline.
“At a time when the entire world is ravaged by all manner of immoralities among youths, we take it as a personal responsibility to ensure that our students conform to the principles and doctrines of good behaviour modelled after Christian values. We, therefore, seek the co-operation of parents to mould the students because the upkeep and training of a child should be a collective effort. We have zero-tolerance for immorality and indiscipline. When we train these children, we are building a society and a future that we can all be proud to claim.”
He added that all the courses offered in MTU were fully accredited by the National Universities Commission.
He said, “MTU has also commenced Post-graduate studies through our vibrant School of Post-Graduate Studies. Also, we have a vibrant Centre for Continuing Education which offers the general public an opportunity to pursue part-time courses for five years leading to the award of degrees in various disciplines.”
