The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has produced 201 First Class graduates for the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 academic sessions.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kolawole Salako, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing on the institution’s combined convocation slated for March 28 and 29, 2022.
Salako said 106 and 95 First Class candidates for the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 academic sessions were among the 5,898 graduates cleared for the convocation.
He added that 2,412 out of the 5,898 graduates bagged Second Class Upper; 2,732 graduates made Second Class Lower; while 482 bagged Third Class; and 14 graduated with pass.
The VC said “In the 2018 /2019 academic session, the university produced 3,202 graduands made up of 106 in the First Class Upper division; 1316 in Second Class Upper division; 1,429 in Second Class Lower division; 310 with Third Class; and 11 Pass degrees.
“For 2019/2020, the university graduated a total of 2, 696; 95 in first class; 1,096 in second class; 1,303 second class lower; 172 third class; and three pass. The College of Veterinary Medicine graduated 28 veterinary doctors.”
Earlier, the institution had inaugurated five buildings funded by the Federal Government and named them after prominent personalities, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo; and Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, among others.
