The Architects Registration Council of Nigeria has accredited the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees programmes of Caleb University Imota, Lagos.
A statement made available to The PUNCH by the university said the approval was communicated in a letter signed by the Registrar of ARCON, Mr Umar Murnai, based on a report of a professional visitation.
It read, “We refer to the professional accreditation visitation to the Department of Architecture, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, held between 12th and 16th April 2021, and we hereby inform you that, in line with Section 9 of the Architects Registration Act CAP A19 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria approves the report of the Panel.”
“In view of the fact that the Department has the acceptable physical infrastructure, facilities and equipment, an acceptable staff/students’ ratio and a general assessment of 77.52 per cent, the Council approves the recommendation of the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees programmes in Architecture.”
It also stated that the Architecture programme had been granted accreditation by the National Universities Commission, adding that some other courses, including B.Sc. Economics; B.Sc. Political Science; B.Sc. International Relations; and B.Sc. Criminology, Security Studies also got NUC’s accreditation.
