According to him, contrary to claims by some persons distancing themselves from the recruitment and that they were not contacted, information at his disposal revealed that there was struggle for nomination into the PCC, while some of them lobbied their name into the list with cash.
Kadzai, who was former National President of CAN (Youth Wing), challenged those who claimed that they were not involved to proceed to court to clear their names.
Among them were Assistant General Secretary of CAN, Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu, who was recruited as Assistant Coordinator; its controversial Lagos State chairman, Stephen Adegbite (member); Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Comfort Chigbue (member); and Testimony Onifade, former personal assistant to the immediate past CAN president, Samson Ayokunle (member).
Others include; Personal Assistant to Rev. Daniel Okoh, current President of CAN, Victor Ivoke (member); CAN former Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Kwamkur Samuel (member) and Prof. Para-Mallam (member).
Although the tenure of the CAN officials would elapse in ten days time, sources said that Samuel has applied for reappointment.
Since the names were made public, the issue had remained the topic of discussion in several churches and WhatsApp groups of CAN leaders.
While describing the development as embarrassing, Kadzai said the persons who found their way into the APC campaign organisation were for their pockets and not for the Body of Christ.
He said, “Therefore, I call on all the political leaders to get across to genuine people that will consult with them as to help them to mobilise and not people that will come to lobby for the position; and when they put it on a paper, they see that is in the public and people begin to criticise. They go into hiding and claim they don’t know anything; if anybody is saying their names were smuggled into that list, let them go to court and claim damages.
“I am saying there is an allegation that some of them lobbied, you don’t lobby for free, it is something you negotiate. This is not the kind of leadership that is expected from a religious organisation.
“The reason is that you have the Assistant General Secretary of CAN whose assignment is to superintend over the activities of the groups under CAN. He is now one of the members of the campaign council. We have the former Director (Legal and Public Affairs) of CAN, we have the incumbent Director (Legal and Public Affairs). She is one of them.
“We have the Personal Assistant to the current President of CAN, he is a member. We have the former PA to the former President of CAN, who is also a member. So what else do you want to ask me? We have, the former Director of National Issues and now the chairman of CAN in Lagos State and he said, God will punish him if he fail to campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I give him credit for that and therefore there is no doubt that CAN is another department of the APC campaign team. Credit to APC.
“Those people that are in CAN to elevate their status, elevate their pockets and elevate their personalities, we know them.
I worked with all of them, if they are doing this in the name of christianity, Nigerians it is left for them to judge.
“But I must be very honest, most of these people who are using CAN to propel themselves into positions of authority are doing so simply because they are not in CAN to resolve crisis that is engulfing the Body of Christ across Nigeria.
“They are not in CAN to address the issue of the failure of the church to evangelise, they are not in CAN to unite the Body of Christ that is today disintegrated, they are not in CAN to harmonise and unite the people of Nigeria, cut across religious line.”
