Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, discharged Egbegbe, who was jailed in 2017, for fraudulently obtaining money by false pretense from no fewer than 40 bureau de change operators in different parts of Lagos.
The presiding judge, Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo, after reviewing his case, found Egbegbe guilty of just one of the 44 counts charged against him.
According to, Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo, 43 of the 44 were thrown out because of a lack of witnesses to substantiate the allegations. Read here.
Well, days after regaining his freedom, Egbegbe was reunited with his mother yesterday, October 25.
Taking to his Instagram page, he shared a video which captured the emotional moment he met his mum after six years of being apart.
The video showed Egbegbe arriving at his mother’s shop and her touching reaction to seeing him.
The delighted woman can be heard expressing gratitude to God as she fights back her tears while hugging her son.
Egbegbe shared the video on his Instagram page with the caption, “Seeing my mum yesterday after 6 years means a lot to me…….what an emotional and exciting moment.”
