The veteran was one of the top actors in the Nigerian film industry in the 2000s before he relocated to the United States seven years ago.
One of his colleagues, Obey Etok Chima, who confirmed the devastating news, said he died after a second brain surgery.
“I can’t believe I’m posting this. I can’t imagine am posting this. Chikezie Uwazie goneeeee. After a 2nd brain surgery. Gini na emezi. Am so shocked to get this news this evening. Just got this from our IMSU alumni platform. I thought you told me you were going to the states for greener pastures. You promised to come back some years back but I didn’t see you. Can’t believe you are gone but God knows best. Rest on Chyko,” she wrote.
This comes barely 48 hours after the deaths of Nollywood actors, Murphy Afolabi and Saint Obi, were made public.

Over the weekend, Murphy Afolabi was reported dead at the age of 49.
According to multiple sources, he died from injuries he sustained from falling down in the bathroom in the early hours of Sunday, May 14.
A colleague, Tunde Ola Yusuf, confirmed the sad story.
This comes after it was reported that veteran Nigerian thespian, Obinna Nwafor, better known by his stage name Saint Obi, tragically passed away recently.
