During her parading at the Bosso Police Station, Joy shockingly confessed to the crime.
She revealed that her motive was to confront and physically assault the late lecturer, who had reportedly sent her away from her residence.
The young suspect explained that she had arrived at the deceased’s house accompanied by two classmates, identified as Walex and Smart.
According to Joy, their initial intention was to teach the lecturer a lesson.
However, they soon realized that she would report them if left alive.
In a chilling turn of events, the trio resorted to stabbing Dr. Adefolalu repeatedly, using knives they had brought with them.
The victim’s desperate cries for help echoed through the house as she pleaded for mercy.
Joy explained the horrific details, stating that they stabbed the lecturer in her stomach, hands, and legs while she repeatedly cried out for help.
After the brutal attack, they looted her belongings, taking her phone, laptop, and even her car battery, before making their escape on a motorcycle.
Authorities have confirmed the arrest of Joy Afekafe, an SS 2 student at Day Secondary School, Gidan Kuka.
The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abiodun Wasiu, announced that efforts are underway to apprehend her accomplices, Walex and Smart.
The case is being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
