Slovaks to seal qualification
Slovakia ground out a tough 1-0 victory in Luxembourg last time out. That win put Francesco Calzona’s side in pole position to join Group J winners Portugal at Euro 2024 in Germany next summer. They are the worthy favourite to be the winner of this clash, but at odds of 1.77, too short to add to my tips. However, there is a way around that.
The hosts aim to win this game as soon as possible in a similar fashion to their last home group game. On that occasion, The Falcons raced into a 3-0 lead over Liechtenstein within six minutes! Their other home win in Group J was over Bosnia and it also saw them leading at half-time and full-time.

Iceland unable to thaw home defence
Slovakia have kept five clean sheets and only conceded five goals during qualification. This record becomes even more impressive upon reviewing the stats, which show that four of those goals were scored by the group winners, Portugal.
Apart from their 3-2 loss in Portugal, Slovakia have seen all their other seven fixtures in this group feature under 3.5 goals. As for Iceland, it is five out of their eight qualifiers, including the last head-to-head, a 2-1 defeat in June.

Get four correct scores onside in Slovakia win
All four Slovakia home ties in this group have been fairly tight and low-scoring. In total, they have produced just six goals with no more than one side scoring on each occasion. The hosts have conceded only once.
The Falcons’ two home wins came by a 2-0 success over Bosnia and defeating Liechtenstein 3-0. We can cover both those scores again here, as well as 2-1 and 3-1, in case Iceland do manage to hit the back of the net.

Take Mak to lead the attack
As for the last of my predictions, I am backing the well-travelled Robert Mak to get on the scoresheet. The 32-year-old has played in Germany, Russia, Turkey and Greece. He now stars for Sydney FC in Australia and plundered 12 goals in 31 appearances for the club last season.
Mak has also scored twice for his country during the current qualifying campaign. Those strikes illustrated his ability to score different types of goals. The first was a superb effort from outside the box that found its way into the bottom corner against Bosnia. Against Liechtenstein, he displayed smart control and finishing in the six-yard box.
Bet 4: Robert Mak to score @ 3.10 with bet365
