Olagbaju, who was elected in Abuja on Tuesday, will take over from the former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Elizabeth Ativie, for a four-year tenure as CONFEPA chairperson.
Olagbaju, who is the Deputy Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, said that she would work assiduously on the framework to reactivate the 35 percent affirmative action in the Nigerian polity.
The Ekiti lawmaker told journalists in a chat in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday that during her tenure, “the female lawmakers would devise legitimate means through which we will fight for the abrogation of laws that infringe on women and girl-child citizens’ rights in Nigeria.”
Olagbaju, the legislator representing Ado Ekiti Constituency II in the state House of Assembly, was a Senior Special Assistant to the state governor before her election into state parliament.
