In Clarksville, Tennessee, a devastating tornado tore through the home of Sydney Moore, the 22-year-old mother, on Saturday, while she was at home with her two babies and fiancé, Daily Mail reports on Friday night.
The couple recounted the devastating impact of a deadly tornado that struck on Saturday, completely demolishing their mobile home. The tornado’s immense force even lifted a bassinet into the air, with the baby still inside.
Moore placed herself over her other one-year-old son Princeton’s body and held on to him as the caravan was carried up and dropped several times during the strong tornado.
Her fiancé made an attempt to save their infant before he was also taken from the house and dumped outside with the sleeping child.
“He tried to grab him, but he couldn’t and the tip of the tornado sucked them both up,” Moore told local reporters.
“He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles,” Moore recounted.
The couple looked for Lord after escaping the debris of their house, and to their amazement, they discovered him alive, lying in the pouring rain on a fallen tree.
“I thought he was dead. I was pretty sure he was dead and we weren’t going to find him. But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God,” Moore said.
“We are told that he looked like he was placed on the tree gently,” Moore’s sister Caitlyn shared. “Like an angel guided him safely to that spot.”
At least six people were killed and almost two dozen injured in two counties during last weekend’s storm in Tennessee.
