Obimma made the call while speaking to journalists at Blessed Iwene Tansi Catholic Church, Umudioka in Dunukofia Council Area, on Saturday.
The cleric observed that Nigerians have been in extreme hardship since the past seven months of the Tinubu-led administration, which according to him, has led to the death of many and massive migration of Nigerians to other countries.
He reminded politicians that revolution is possible in Nigeria, noting that revolution erupts when leaders manhandle the economy to the detriment of the subjects, as seen in Nigeria today.
He said, “Nigeria which is supposed to be the envy of other countries has become an object of mockery before its counterparts because of corruption, nepotism, tribalism, and selfishness amongst the inhabitants. There is need for all to rise and combine efforts to rebuild the country.
“Political leaders must learn to make sacrifices in the interest of their subjects and betterment of the society, no one can be an effective leader without life of sacrifice.
“The Nigerian judiciary must live up to its responsibility as the hope of the common man, in order to regain the confidence of the people. The release of Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal Government should be paramount. The decision of the Supreme Court to try him for terrorism is condemnable. Kanu is just a mere freedom fighter who was never in anyway doing the fighting with weapon or the likes.”
The priest condemned the indiscriminate demolition of properties by the Lagos state government recently, even as he prayed for total restoration for those that lost their properties to the incident.
Obimma who recently lost his mother, Ezinne Grace Udefi Obimma, aged eighty-eight, used the opportunity to thank God for the good life she lived, disclosing that the late mother was the one who motivated him to become a priest and throughout her lifetime supported him through prayers and advice.
He promised to stick to all the legacies she left behind, especially in the area of charity and kindness.
