Umar Ililya Damagum
Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives are calling for the resignation of Umar Ililya Damagum, the party’s Acting National Chairman over alleged anti-party activities.
The party members threatened to dump the PDP for another party if Damagum does not resign immediately.
They also demanded his replacement with another person from the North Central in line with the constitution of the party.
The demand of the aggrieved members, who are no fewer than 60, was convened by Hon Ugochinyere Ikenga, who led five other lawmakers to address reporters at the National Assembly on Monday.
He said the PDP Acting National Chairman has been allegedly engaging in anti-party activities, and sold the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) “for a plate of porridge.”
They, therefore, said Damagun should go before completely destroying the party.
