The Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra State said it has deployed no fewer than 1,020 personnel to ensure the free flow of traffic across the state during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The Sector Commander, FRSC in Anambra State, Adeoye Irelewuyi, made this known in a press conference in Awka, on Saturday, while reassuring the motoring public of FRSC’s renewed vigour towards entrenching sanity on the roads.
Irelewuyi, who disclosed that the personnel, comprised its regular and special Marshalls, said they would man the identified trouble areas in the flashpoints of the state and ensure a hitch-free Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
According to him, the deployment is in line with the directive of the FRSC’s Corps Marshall, Shehu Mohammed, to always inform the public of its preparedness for festivities such as the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
He listed some of the flash points as the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and the Old Awka-Onitsha Road, before Awka as well as the Upper Iweka.
He also pointed out that the corps had also deployed its men to the Aguata axis for vehicles moving towards Imo and other parts of the South-East.
He said, “The command has deployed 1,020 of its personnel, comprising regular and special Marshalls to roads in the Anambra State to ensure free flow of traffic and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
