Several Premier League clubs are reportedly calling for Manchester City to be relegated if the club’s appeal against its alleged financial rule breaches is unsuccessful.
According to Sky Sports, some club executives believe a points deduction would not be a sufficient punishment for the alleged breaches spanning nine years and are pushing for a much harsher sanction.
The executives reportedly do not expect Manchester City to remain in the Premier League next season if the appeal fails.
Manchester City have previously denied wrongdoing and continue to contest the allegations.
