MTN Nigeria has warned customers of network disruptions affecting parts of Oyo, Lagos, Rivers, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT/Abuja) and Delta States.
The telecom operator issued the alert on Thursday, October 8, 2026, noting that customers in the affected areas may experience temporary interruptions or unavailability of voice calls and mobile internet services.
MTN did not disclose a specific cause of the disruption or provide a definite timeline for full restoration. However, the company said its technical teams were working to restore services as quickly as possible.
The latest disruption comes amid MTN’s ongoing quality-of-service compensation programme for eligible subscribers affected by previous network challenges.
Qualifying customers may receive varying amounts of airtime credit, including ₦20, ₦100, ₦1,000 and other amounts, depending on the applicable compensation criteria. MTN has explained that compensation amounts are linked to factors including customers’ spending patterns and locations where qualifying service disruptions occurred.
The company has also assured affected subscribers of its commitment to restoring reliable services.
