
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), under the leadership of its General Manager Babatunde Ajayi, has released the latest Air Quality Index (AQI) readings across Lagos as of 10:00 a.m. on November 17, 2025, showing mostly stable conditions across the state, with Egbeda emerging as the only location with an “Unhealthy” rating.
Ajayi shared the update on his official X page, accompanied by a visual breakdown of AQI levels recorded across six monitoring points.

- Egbeda, Alimosho — 38.86 (Unhealthy)
- Iba Town, Ojo — 27.43 (Moderate)
- UNILAG CRL — 20 (Moderate)
- Agege — 16.18 (Moderate)
- LASEPA, Ikeja — 15.76 (Moderate)
- Igando, Alimosho — 14.59 (Moderate)
According to LASEPA, while most areas fall within the ‘Moderate’ category—indicating acceptable air quality for the general public—Egbeda’s “Unhealthy” rating may pose health risks to sensitive groups such as:
- Individuals with asthma or respiratory conditions
- Elderly persons
- Children
- Pregnant women
Public Advisory
Residents in Egbeda are urged to:
- Reduce prolonged outdoor exposure
- Use face masks when necessary
- Keep indoor air clean by closing windows during high pollution periods
