The Rotary Club of Oregun, under the leadership of its 2025–2026 President, Rotarian Ademowore Adetola (PHF), has officially commissioned its flagship project for the Rotary year themed “Unite for Good”—a fully equipped, solar-powered Barber’s Capsule designed to empower young people through vocational skills acquisition, job creation, and economic self-reliance.
The project was commissioned on June 29, 2026, by the District Governor of Rotary International District 9111, Rotarian (Prince) Henry Akinyele, in the presence of Rotary leaders, community members, project partners, and other distinguished guests.
The commissioning ceremony underscored Rotary’s enduring commitment to sustainable community development through practical, people-centred interventions that create lasting impact.
Speaking at the event, District Governor Rotarian (Prince) Henry Akinyele described the Barber’s Capsule as more than just a physical structure, noting that it symbolizes hope, dignity, and opportunity for young people striving to build meaningful careers.
“This project is an investment in people. By equipping young people with practical vocational skills, we are helping to reduce unemployment, promote self-reliance, and create a brighter future for our community.
We are proud to commission a project that will continue to transform lives for many years to come,” he said.

He explained that the Barber’s Capsule provides aspiring barbers with a modern, conducive, and solar-powered workspace where they can acquire professional skills, establish sustainable livelihoods, and contribute meaningfully to the local economy.
The project aligns with Rotary International’s Area of Focus on Community Economic Development and demonstrates the club’s dedication to addressing local needs through impactful and sustainable interventions.
The Rotary Club of Oregun expressed profound appreciation to the District Governor for commissioning the project, as well as to all club members, donors, supporters, and its project partner, Naraton Smart Home—the fabricator of the Barber’s Capsule—for their invaluable support and commitment, which made the project a reality.
