- Celebrates Sustainability Day with multimillion Naira Savings and 30% Reduction in Paper Usage

Promasidor is taking its sustainability drive a step further with the introduction of the Eco Alert App, a new platform designed to empower employees to report sustainability-related issues and support their timely resolution.
Launched during the company’s Sustainability Day 2026 employee engagement event, the app marks an important step in making sustainability a shared responsibility, giving colleagues a practical way to flag concerns and contribute to a more resource-efficient workplace.
The initiative reflects a simple but important principle: building a sustainable organisation requires more than policies and targets; it also depends on the everyday actions of the people who work within it. By providing a dedicated channel for reporting sustainability concerns, Promasidor aims to encourage greater employee participation and make it easier to identify areas that require attention and improvement.
Speaking at the event, Chief Technical Officer, Brighton Ochieng, reflected on the company’s sustainability journey, highlighting progress achieved despite the challenges encountered. He disclosed that Promasidor had reduced paper usage by 30 per cent year-to-date, while improved approaches to water and energy consumption had further strengthened resource efficiency. These efforts, he noted, had generated huge savings this year.
This reinforces the business value of sustainability, demonstrating how more responsible use of resources can contribute to operational efficiency while reducing waste.
The Packaging and Sustainability Manager, Solomon Makanjuola, also highlighted the growing importance of sustainability to the business, sharing insights into emerging trends and encouraging employees to make more conscious choices in their daily activities.
The event also celebrated colleagues whose contributions have helped advance Promasidor’s sustainability agenda. The Heat Factory received special recognition for adopting a paperless process, highlighting how changes in everyday work practices can support resource conservation. A sustainability quiz further engaged employees, testing their knowledge and reinforcing key lessons from the event.
The programme concluded with a pledge by attendees to embrace sustainable practices beyond the workplace, underscoring the importance of translating awareness into consistent action at work, at home and within the wider community.
With the launch of the Eco Alert App and continued progress in resource efficiency, Promasidor is reinforcing its commitment to a sustainability culture in which employees are not merely observers but active participants in identifying challenges and driving improvement.
