The three-year ban imposed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Anambra student, Ejikeme Mmesoma, is set to expire this July, paving the way for her to once again register for and participate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Mmesoma came into the national spotlight in 2023 after JAMB accused her of manipulating her UTME result to falsely claim she scored 362, whereas the examination body maintained that her actual score was 249.
Following an investigation, JAMB barred her from sitting the UTME for three years and withdrew her original result. The controversy sparked widespread public debate, with opinions divided over the circumstances surrounding the incident.
With the expiration of the disciplinary action this month, Mmesoma is now eligible to register for future UTME examinations, should she choose to continue pursuing admission into a tertiary institution.
Neither JAMB nor Mmesoma has issued an official statement regarding her next steps.
