Moving Forward
After an extended period of travelling and spending time with family and following much thought and quiet reflection, I have decided to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Today, I informed the leadership of the party in Ogun state and sent in my resignation letter.
My time in the APC has been an important part of my political journey, and I am grateful for the people I have met, the relationships I have built and the experiences that have shaped my understanding of public service and leadership.
However, there comes a time when one must have the courage to reassess one’s path.
At this point in my journey, I believe it is important to consider carefully how best I can continue to contribute to Ogun State and Nigeria, and I am comfortable taking the time to make that decision thoughtfully.
What I know with certainty is that my commitment to public service remains undiminished and that I will continue to be guided by the same values that brought me into public life in the first place: service, integrity, inclusion, competence, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
It is, therefore, important to reiterate that I am not stepping away from public service. I am taking the next step in the journey.
And sometimes, moving forward requires giving oneself the space to reflect, to listen, and to decide with clarity where one truly wants to go.
In the meantime, I will return to my professional and business commitments after my holiday, while I take time to determine the form that the next phase of my political engagement will take.
I wish the APC and all those within the party well.
