Online political interest ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections is shifting strongly towards the electoral process, with more than 62% focused on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), according to tracking data.
Political parties, particularly the APC and PDP, also command substantial attention, while individual candidates appear less prominent in the monitored discussions.
The interest is increasingly practical, with citizens seeking information on the voters’ register, recruitment portals and how to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.
The findings suggest that online engagement is extending beyond campaign personalities to the institutions, parties and procedures shaping participation in the election.
